All servers have been updated and are protected against the recent PHP vulnerabilities. Still seeing an older version number, such as 8.3.35? That is correct: the security fix is included, only the version number was not changed by CloudLinux.

Images that jump around as you type

You place a logo or photo neatly in position, type a sentence next to it, and the image jumps to another spot or even to the next page. This happens because of the way the image is positioned "in" the text: the wrapping style.

Why does this happen?

By default, an image is set to Inline: it behaves like a (very large) letter in the sentence. Type in front of it, and it shifts along, just like the words.

Fixing the image in place

  1. Right-click the image and choose Advanced Settings (or click the image and choose Show advanced settings on the right).
  2. Under Wrapping Style, choose something other than Inline, for example Square (text wraps around it), Top and bottom, Behind text (as a background) or In front of text.
  3. Go to Position and fix the location relative to the page or the margin, instead of relative to the paragraph.
  4. Switch off Move object with text. Now the image stays put when you type above it.
  5. Click OK.

Letterhead with a logo in the top right

If you want a logo to appear on every page, it's better to place it in the header (double-click at the top of the page). That way, it will never move along with the text. See Header, footer and page numbers and Creating a letter or quote.

Pitfalls

  • A document from Word sometimes looks slightly different: the logo is shifted a few millimetres. In that case, set the position relative to the page again, or use Relative position.
  • With Behind text, the image can be tricky to click. Try clicking an edge that falls outside the text, or temporarily change the wrapping back.
