Switching from Microsoft OneDrive to WebOké's Nextcloud is easy thanks to our migration app.
In this article, we'll explain step by step how to migrate your files, contacts, and calendars.
Step 1 - Log in to your Nextcloud server and click on your profile in the top right corner, then click on 'Settings' in the dropdown menu
Step 2 - Click on Data Migration in the left menu
Step 3 - Click on Connect to OneDrive
Step 4 - A Microsoft login pop-up will appear. If you're already logged in to your Microsoft account, this pop-up will disappear automatically and your account will be connected immediately.
If you're not logged in yet, you can do so now in the pop-up.
Step 5 - Once your account is connected, you'll see the options to migrate your files, contacts, and calendars.
In the Import directory field, you can choose which folder on your Nextcloud server all data should be moved to. You can adjust this by clicking on the pencil icon. Here you can create a new folder or select an existing folder.
Please note: The tool migrates all data from OneDrive. Do you want to exclude certain files? Then delete them in OneDrive before starting the migration.
Click on Import OneDrive files when you're ready to start the migration.
That's it! The migration is now in progress.
Depending on the amount of data, this may take some time, ranging from a few minutes to several hours for large amounts of files.
Tip: You can leave this window open and do other things in the meantime. The server will continue working in the background and you can see the progress on the screen.
Once the migration is complete, all your data will be safely stored on your own Nextcloud server, running on our physical servers in the NorthC data centers in Aalsmeer and Oude Meer. Congratulations on your switch to digital sovereignty!
