Can I add my subdomains with a wildcard?
You can add domains with a wildcard.
To do so, create an A record in the DNS with * as the name and the IP address of the server or of your domain.
Then contact us, as we need to change something in the web server configuration. Please note: after this you can no longer use the normal subdomain functionality.
In the custom httpd.conf we add: ServerAlias *.|DOMAIN|
Thanks to the wildcard, all requests for A.uwdomein.nl and B.uwdomein.nl now end up in the main folder. From there you can redirect them yourself with a .htaccess file
An example of the .htaccess file in the public_html folder:# ieder subdomein doorsturenRewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^plaatjes.uwdomein.nl$RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/plaatjesRewriteRule ^(.*)$ /plaatjes/$1 [L]# Alle andere naar www# Voor ieder subdomein herhalen RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^plaatjes\.uwdomein\.nl$ [NC]RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.uwdomein.nl/$1 [L,R=301]
