MCP server for AI: connect Claude, ChatGPT or Mistral to your hosting package

The MCP server for AI is a connection between your hosting package and your own AI tool. You connect Claude, ChatGPT, Mistral Le Chat, Claude Code or Codex to your package once, and from then on that AI can work directly in the files of your website: read, edit, publish new pages and look at your site's error messages. You describe in plain words what needs to happen, the AI carries it out on your hosting. No FTP, no copying and pasting.

The connection is free with WebHost Two, Power Webhost Three and Power Webhost Four.

What can the AI do with the connection?

After connecting, your AI tool gets a set of commands (tools) that only work inside the /domains folder of your hosting package, so only in your websites:

list your packages and domains;
browse and read folders and files;
write, edit, rename and delete files, and create folders (only with write permission);
search by file name or folder name;
read the last lines of a domain's error log, useful when a page shows an error.

Writing, renaming and deleting is only possible in public_html and private_html. Databases, mailboxes and DirectAdmin settings cannot be reached through the connection.

Which packages?

The MCP server for AI is included free with WebHost Two, Power Webhost Three and Power Webhost Four. If you have WebHost One, the MCP page shows a notice with the option to upgrade. Only the account owner can create connections; additional users of your account cannot.

Opening the MCP page

Log in at mijn.weboke.nl.
Go to My Administration and click MCP server for AI. You can also go straight to mijn.weboke.nl/mijnmcpserver.

At the top of the page you find the address of the connection: https://mijn.weboke.nl/mcp. That is the address you enter in your AI tool. Below it are the steps per AI tool, your active connections and the recent activity.

Connecting Claude, ChatGPT or Mistral Le Chat

You connect these three tools through their own settings. They then send you to our consent screen, where you choose what the AI may do.

Claude (claude.ai): go to Customize, Connectors, and choose Add custom connector. Enter https://mijn.weboke.nl/mcp as the address. This works in claude.ai, Claude Desktop and Cowork.
ChatGPT: first turn on Developer mode via Settings, Security and login. Then go to Settings, Plugins, click the plus button and paste the same address. Afterwards, tick the plugin per conversation.
Mistral Le Chat: go to Intelligence, Connectors, Add Connector, and choose the Custom MCP Connector tab. Paste the address there.
The tool opens our consent screen. Log in if needed, choose the hosting package, the permissions (read-only by default) and how long the connection stays valid.
Confirm with your password and your two-step code. The screen then sends you back to the AI tool and the connection is ready.

You do not have to copy a token yourself: the tool and our server arrange that between them.

Connecting Claude Code or Codex

Claude Code works without a token: run the command from the MCP page, start Claude Code, type /mcp, choose weboke and log in. You then get the same consent screen as above. For Codex and other command-line tools you create a token:

On the MCP page, go to New token. Give the token a name (for example the name of your laptop), choose the package, the permissions and the validity.
Confirm with your password and two-step code. The token appears once on screen; copy it right away. You also receive an email that a connection has been created.
Paste the token into your tool. The MCP page shows the exact command or configuration per tool, for example a claude mcp add command for Claude Code and a snippet for config.toml for Codex.

Lost it? Revoke the old token and create a new one. A token you can no longer see cannot be shown again by us either.

Permissions, validity and revoking

Read-only is the default. The AI can then look at files and read the error log, but change nothing. Ideal to start with.
Read and write also lets the AI edit, publish, rename and delete files within your website folders.
Every connection has an end date. After that it simply stops working and you create a new one if needed.
Revoking takes one click in the list of connections. The AI tool loses access immediately.
Under Recent activity you can see for 90 days which connection did what.

What happens to deleted files?

If you let the AI delete a file, we first put a copy in the .mcp-prullenbak folder in the domain's folder (for files up to 5 MB). That folder is outside your website and not publicly reachable, so you can undo a mistake. If the AI deletes a whole folder, it is gone immediately. For bigger changes, rely on a backup first: with WebOke Backups you can restore any day of the past 30 days.

Tips for working safely

Start with read-only permission and let the AI explain what it finds first.
Give each tool and each device its own connection, so you can revoke one without touching the rest.
Ask the AI to show a change before it writes it, and check your website in the browser afterwards.
Make an extra backup right before a big change with the Backup now button in WebOke Backups.
Never share a token with others. A token is a key to your website.

Frequently asked questions

What does it cost?
Nothing. The connection is included with WebHost Two and up. Should usage grow far beyond what we expect, we may limit free usage; we will announce that well in advance.

Can the AI also access my database or mail?
No. The connection only works in the files of your websites. Databases, mailboxes and DirectAdmin settings are not reachable.

Which AI tools work?
Anything that supports the MCP protocol. The MCP page has steps for Claude, ChatGPT, Mistral Le Chat, Claude Code and Codex. Other tools connect with a token and the address https://mijn.weboke.nl/mcp.

I get an error saying there are too many requests.
We limit the number of simultaneous commands per connection to keep your server fast. Wait a few seconds and try again.

Where can I see what the AI has done?
Under Recent activity on the MCP page, per connection and per command.
