ICANN schickt mir einen Whois Data Reminder

Nach den ICANN-Regeln sind Registrare verpflichtet, regelmäßig (einmal im Jahr) eine E-Mail mit den aktuellen Daten zu verschicken, unter denen eine Domain registriert ist. Nicht alle Registrare halten sich allerdings gleich streng daran.

Diese E-Mail ist echt und damit legitim. Antworten Sie aber nie auf solche E-Mails, das ist nicht nötig. Stimmen die Angaben in der E-Mail nicht ganz, können Sie sie über unsere Verwaltung anpassen.

Die E-Mail kann zum Beispiel so aussehen:

This message is a reminder to help you keep the contact data associated with your domain registration up-to-date.
According to ICANN's Whois Data Reminder Policy, a registrar must present - at least annually - to the registrant the current Whois information, and remind the registrant that provision of false Whois information can be grounds for cancellation of their domain name registration. Registrants must review their Whois data and make any corrections, if necessary.
